Event Info
FREE STUFF – Every Short/Long GRIND racer receives a FREE T-shirt, FREE post race BBQ, 2 FREE Castle Danger beers (21 and up), and FREE entry to the night CX event.
Both the long (32 miles) and short (19 miles) mountain bike race courses utilize the most scenic and challenging terrain in Minnesota’s Iron Range. Expect tough climbs, fast descents, varied terrain with rocks, roots, creeks, & plenty of passing opportunities. This race will test your skills as you wind through cross country trails, ski runs, snowmobile trails, and rugged mining roads. Whether you’re a first timer, a weekend warrior, or a pro racer, you can count on having an amazing experience.
Cyclocross race under the lights is a 30 or 45 minute race Saturday evening. The course will be incorporating the ski runs, double track, and whatever else we happen to find on the resort. There will be a mix of obstacles and trail set-ups to ensure no one bike has any advantage over other. Any type of bicycle is welcome, but a MTB or CX bike will do best. This is a great race to try the sport as a beginner or an early pre season race for the upcoming season.
COURSE UPDATE 10am RACE SART. Short/Long loop – Short steep punchy climbs through the first third. A little flatter gravel and ATV trail in the middle. Rolling gravel and grassy double track to end. A great mix for mountain bikers.
